Grantee Spotlight: Days for Girls
“Every Girl. Everywhere. Period.” A 2013 grant recipient, Days for Girls’ is making great strides in making the world a better place for girls, and the Circle of Sisterhood Foundation couldn’t be more proud in announcing our support of this organization.
Days for Girls’ is an organization that aims to “provide sustainable hygiene solutions and health education to girls and women around the world.” They do this by providing kits with hygiene products and educational information. Without hygiene products, women and girls can miss nearly two months of school or work a year due to being unable to leave their residence during menstruation. Days for Girls’ allows these women to carry on with their every day lives with dignity.
The $5,000 grants that we’ve awarded Days for Girls’ will directly benefit the women and girls of Uganda. The grant will directly fund the training of 36 regional representatives.
These representatives will be trained to teach women and girls about the hygiene kits and how to use them, basic sexual education, and to facilitate conversation regarding sexual health and violence issues specific to women in Uganda. This grant will directly impact hundreds of women by allowing them continued access to education and income.
As always, we are so proud of all of our campus partners and the impact that they continue to have for women and children across the world. The money that you raised will have a direct impact on Days for Girls’ ability to help Every Girl. Everywhere. Period.
